1. Say no to scrubbing

Be it any harsh stain, scrubbing the wood destroys the polish and creates rough patches. If the stain is sticky and stubborn a little amount of soap mixed with water can do. If it remains the same, use a little oil to remove the stain with a piece of cotton.

2. Avoid water 

Water is a rival to wood. Moisture is easily retained by wooden furniture and causes it to weaken and eventually destroy. Whereas, when the environment is extremely dry, the wood develops cracks. It is important to know which type of wood your furnishings are made from and exposure to moisture must be maintained accordingly.

3. Use natural materials

4. Gentle dusting regularly

When there are thin layers of dust on your furniture it can be wiped off easily with a dry soft cloth. If stains are present, damp the cloth and swiftly brush them off.

5. Keep the sun and termites away

Direct exposure to sunshine harms the wood. Termites cause immense damage to wood. This can be avoided by locking away any excess moisture, repairing leaky faucets, and not allowing stagnant water to persist. 

Keeping your wood safe from termites is a must as in no time it eats all the shillings of wood and makes it defected and destroys it completely by turning it to dust with more time. To avoid this, furniture must be checked regularly for any damages consult a pest controller who can provide a termite-free spray. 

Using aloe vera gel and borax powder helps keep away termites too. 

As difficult it is to select the furniture for your home, the more difficult is to maintain them. With proper knowledge and guidance and a few hacks and tips, wooden can be taken better care of.
